Projekt: Transparency unit staffing and budget

Dear Sir or Madam,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

For the years 2017, 2018 and 2019:

- any and all documents that contain the number of staff in your Transparency Unit (or the department dealing with access to EU documents requests) - this could be, for instance, organigrams or staffing plans that are specific to that unit;
- any and all documents containing the budget for your Transparency Unit (or the department dealing with access to EU documents requests); I would appreciate the most detailed version of this budget possible.

And for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018:

- any and all documents containing data on the handling of access to EU documents requests by this institution; I am looking specifically for broken down data, per year, on the number of initial access to documents applications received, and the number of confirmatory applications received.

Dear Ms Izuzquiza, Thank you for your email dated 03 May 2019 requesting access to documents pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. Please note that the European Banking Authority (‘EBA’) strives to be transparent and open to as great an extent possible. As regards your request to access all documents that contain the number of staff in our Transparency Unit (or the department dealing with access to EU documents requests): the EBA does not have a dedicated Transparency Unit and the Access to Documents requests are mainly dealt by two legal advisors in the Legal Unit. The EBA does not have organigrams for each Unit; you may find the general EBA organigram at the following link: https://eba.europa.eu/about-us/organisa…. The EBA organigrams are available in the EBA Annual Reports as well, available at the following link: https://eba.europa.eu/about-us/annual-r…. In relation to your request to access all documents containing the budget for the Transparency Unit: the EBA does not allocate a specific budget to each Unit or Department, but has specific budget lines within the Units/Departments for dedicated tasks; there is no specific budget line allocated to access to documents. Please note that the Annual Report for the years 2018 and 2019 have not been published yet. The annual report for the year 2018 has not been published yet. We trust this is to your satisfaction.
