Anfrage an: Europäisches Amt für Betrugsbekämpfung

Dear European Anti-Fraud Office,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, we are requesting the following documents:

- OLAF’s final report on the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), including all annexes.

- all correspondence – including, but not limited to, all e-mails and letters - exchanged between OLAF and Frontex since January 2021 to date, including all attachments.

- all correspondence – including, but not limited to, all e-mails and letters - exchanged between OLAF and the European Commission regarding or mentioning Frontex, since January 2021 to date, including all attachments.

- for all meetings held between OLAF and Frontex from January 2021 to date, all minutes, notes, or record-keeping of any kind reflecting the course of and discussions at the meetings.

- for all meetings held between OLAF and the European Commission regarding or mentioning Frontex from January 2021 to date, all minutes, notes, or record-keeping of any kind reflecting the course of and discussions at the meetings.

Dear Ms Izuzquiza and Mr Semsrott, We refer to your e-mail of 8 April 2022 in which you made a request for access to documents, registered in OLAF on the same day under the reference OCM(2022)10791. Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a position to complete the handling of your application within the time limit of 15 working days, which expires on 3 May 2022. An extended time limit is needed as the application concerns a substantial number of documents and, in order to retrieve the documents, it is necessary to examine a large file. Furthermore, the request requires consultation with the investigators of the case in question and it arrived shortly before the start of a holiday period during which colleagues were absent. Consequently, we have to extend the time limit by a further 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation No 1049/2001. The new time limit expires on 24 May 2022. We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
