next meeting of its Legal Affairs Commission (29-30 September
2022).

One of the agenda items on which we would like to focus on this
occasion is Child rights package: Legislation to effectively tackle
child sexual abuse & European strategy for a better internet
for children.

We would be pleased to benefit from a presentation and
exchange with the European Commission, highlighting the main
components and implications of the initiative.

Therefore, we would be delighted if you or a member of your
Unit were to accept our cordial invitation to participate to this
meeting. The agenda item would be scheduled on 29 September
2022, from 10.15 until 11.30 a.m. Your presentation would cover
(maximum) 15 minutes.

Please note that we are also trying to secure a contribution from
an academic speaker and that there will also be a short
intervention from one of our members from the national
perspective. This would be followed by an exchange.

The meeting will take place with physical presence of
participants at the COMECE premises.

Our Legal Affairs Commission is composed of lay jurists appointed
by a number of Catholic Bishops' Conferences based in EU
Member States. Around 20 persons attend its meetings, which
are not     open      to      the    public and        are held in
English under Chatham House Rule.

We are pleased to have a long-standing tradition of high-quality
contributions of European Commission representatives to these
meetings, also as an element of concrete implementation of
Article 17.3 TFEU Dialogue.
