On 18th of January at 04:15 a group of migrants were detected on board a
rubber boat by Text Removed – Reporting Tools at the sea area Text Removed –
Operational Area. The information passed to HCG Authorities and Text Removed
– Technical Equipment. Forty migrants were rescued by Text Removed –
Technical Equipment at a rocky area of Text Removed – Operational Area. The
Information/allegations migrants informed that one person was missing. Immediately a SAR Operation
was launched by JRCC Piraeus with the participation of Text Removed –
Technical Equipment, Text Removed – Technical Equipment, Text Removed –
Technical Equipment, Text Removed – Technical Equipment, passing by vessels
as well as private divers. At 12:40 LT one dead body was recovered by private
divers at the sea area Text Removed – Operational Area. After confirmation of
the identity of the corpse the SAR operation was concluded.
