The EU institution doesn’t answer. What should I do?

Without a doubt, not receiving an answer is an obstacle for us to exercise our right to gain access to information. In the case of inaction, FragDenStaat gives you the possibility to send a reminder by e-mail to the institution.

If an authority still doesn’t answer, you can still go ahead and challenge their inaction in the form of an appeal, called ‘confirmatory application’, as the inaction to respond can be handled like a refusal. No matter the outcome of the request, the institution has the obligation to answer to access to EU documents requests.
