With reference in particular to your Article 10 report provided on 17 July 1995, I would be grateful if your authorities would provide a copy of all of the reports submitted by local authorities (one of the 5 data sources examined by your authorities in assessing whether vulnerable zones need to be designated) together with the monitoring data on which the local authority reports were based. With reference to Article 6(1)(b) ofthe Directive, I would remind your authorities that a repeat of the monitoring programme required under Article 6(1)(a) should have been concluded by 18 December 1997 at the latest (with exceptions for some sampling stations). I would be grateful to receive acopy ofthe monitoring data resulting from this repeat exercise together with any analysis which your authorities have made ofthe data. With reference to Article 6(1)(c), I would be grateful for Ireland's review of the eutrophic status of all Irish fresh surface waters, estuarial and coastal waters. The 1995 Article 10 report noted that a more detailed estuarine and coastal waters monitoring programme was needed, and that arrangements were in hand to address the matter. I would be grateful for details. I look forward to hearing from you within the next two months.
