On 10 February 2021, the European Commission published the document 'COM (2021) 56 final' in which it briefly refers to a recent Frontex study, based on data collected from EU Member States and on a questionnaire, aimed at evaluating cooperation with different third countries in the field of readmission ("assessment of third countries' cooperation on readmission"). I would like to know whether you could send the full version of this study done by Frontex. I would be very pleased. further specified by you as follows: "Data and answers to a questionnaire provided by Member States (27) and Schengen Associated Countries (4) for 2019, and collected by Frontex along the comprehensive set of indicators established in the legislation", as specified in Footnote n. 20, page 8 of Document COM(2021) 56 final. Please be informed that the data and indicators cannot be released as they pertain to analyses and subjective assessments of third countries. Effective cooperation with third countries is crucial for Frontex, and therefore a unilateral disclosure of the documents containing such data and indicators must be refused as establishing and protecting a sphere of mutual trust in the context of international relations is a very delicate exercise. The release of the documents would end the mutual trust enjoyed between these countries and Frontex. Once the relationship between Frontex and these countries is impaired, there would be an ascertainable likelihood that these countries would no longer share sensitive data, respectively cooperate, with Frontex. As this risk is reasonably foreseeable, disclosing this information would undermine the protection of the public interest as regards international relations. Consequently, access to those documents has to be refused pursuant to Article 4(1)(a) first and third indent of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. Due to its nature, being documents containing such data and indicators, a partial disclosure is not possible. 1 In accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 of 30 May 2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents (OJ L 145, 31.5.2001, p. 43). Pursuant to Article 7(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001,          within 15 working days of the receipt of this letter, you may submit a confirmatory application          to Frontex to reconsider its position. Based on Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, Frontex        will reply to you within 15 working days from the registration of such application.
