Request from European Digital Rights - statistics for GDPR Today
Dear Sir or Madam,
I work as a lawyer at Panoptykon Foundation (privacy watchdog based in Warsaw, Poland).
As a network of human rights NGOs united in European Digital Rights Initiative (EDRi) we are collecting basic statistical data about the "life" and implementation of the GDPR and we publish them at GDPRToday.org. The first issue of GDPR Today was presented on the 25th od October during the International Conference for Data Protection Commissioners in Brussels. Meike Schuster of the German Federal Data Protection Authority contacted you on our behalf but we have not received a response.
We are preparing a second issue of GDPR Today which will be published in January during the CPDP conference in Brussels. Would you be able to help us collect statistical information from Bavaria?
We are requesting data from the period between May 25th and November 25th. Please note that the ending date is crucial since we would like to compare data from many countries.
We would like to request:
1. the number complaints;
2. the number of data breach notifications;
3. the number of imposed fines (incl. their amounts);
4. the number of codes of conduct (both submitted and approved) and the industries which have submitted them.
We would need this data by January 10th. Is that a reasonable date?
"GDPR Today" targets data protection professionals, NGOs, influencers and journalists, hopefully fueling more evidence-based debate on GDPR. In May 2019 we would like to issue more comprehensive report summarizing the first year of GDPR across EU.
I do hope that we will be able to collect relevant data also from Thuringia and promote the work that you do as the state DPA.
Thank you in advance for your help. In case of any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Anfrage erfolgreich
