Europol EMSC
Dear Europol,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting:
1. All documents and database-held data (i.e. data contained in EUROPOL EMSC’s electronic storage, processing and retrieval systems, that can be extracted in the form of a printout or electronic-format copy using the available tools for the exploration of the system) that indicate a complete and/or partial list of the following:
- all the “senders” of the 18,203 messages Europol EMSC received on facilitated illegal immigration and migrant smuggling through SIENA (Secure Information Exchange Network Application), as referenced on page 7 of EMSC 5th Report 2021 (https://www.europol.europa.eu/publications-documents/european-migrant-smuggling-centre-5th-annual-report-–-2021). Names of individuals are NOT required. Rather, the department and rank/job title of an individual can be included there where it does not lead to the personal identification of an individual.
- all the countries and/or locations of each of the 3,931 “new cases” of facilitated illegal immigration and migrant smuggling received by EUROPOL EMSC through SIENA, as referenced on page 7 of EMSC 5thReport 2021 (https://www.europol.europa.eu/publications-documents/european-migrant-smuggling-centre-5th-annual-report-–-2021).
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any doubts or question in regards to this request.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Luisa Izuzquiza
